IN MEMORY OF FLICK NELSON
SOS were invited to the Black Swan Hotel in Darlington on Saturday night to accept a donation in memory of Flick Nelson.
Flick was an ex para and a biker who was a passionate supporter of our Armed Forces. We had the honour of meeting him at a couple of events organised by the XXXX Crew and at Bent`s Park AFD. A big man with a big heart and loved by so many.
Sadly Flick died in June and Lee Talbot and his friends in Darlington were among many who raised funds to give Flick the send off he deserved and to show their respect. The response was amazing and friends and bikers throughout the area raised a considerable amount of money to pay for his funeral in July which hundreds attended. Glenn and I were honoured to meet many of Flicks friends on Saturday night and were overwhelmed to be presented with a donation of £2125.67 which was the money left after all expenses had been paid, and we know this is what he would have wanted.
Our thanks and gratitude to Lee, Maggie, Roz, Dee, Den, Denise and to everyone who contributed. You made us feel very welcome and we really enjoyed ourselves. Hope you all have a great night this coming Friday the 3rd to celebrate what would have been Flick`s 69th birthday.
On behalf of the Team at SOS thank you so much again. Your support really is appreciated.
Glenn & Elaine
